The 3D fileThe .stl file is the most common 3D file for printing. We usually find a .stl file in THINGIVERSE or create one in TINKERCAD. Then we can take this file and print directly to the Lulzbot OR put it in Makerbot Desktop software to export as a Makerbot file for our Makerbot Replicator printers.3D .STL FREE MODEL FILES |
PrintingFilamentWe primarily use two types of FILAMENTS:
ExtruderThe extruder is the piece that heats the filament and moves around the platform creating the printed product.
BED
Cool bed- Makerbots use a cool bed surface with a blue tape-like surface protector. We've also used blue painter's tape with some success as a surface protector.
Hot bed -Lulzbots use a hot printing bed. This temperature depends on the type of filament. This chart has temperature guides for using different filaments. Software - we are usingCURA - .stl files
